Throughout the month of November 2018, Malton Neighbourhood Services staff, students and community members took part in various fun activities to help us raise money for United Way. We kicked off the campaign with our third annual staff auction, through which staff members offered fun services. Some of the services our staff bid on were salsa lessons, valet service, homemade smoothies for a week, stress release session.

After a successful auction, we hosted “Munch in Malton”. Where we offered pancakes and waffles with fruits, croissants, baked goods and tea and coffee to start off your morning.

At our “Soup n Go” event, staff and community members could play bingo and enjoy a hot bowl of soup. Many thanks to Cleo and Blossom who made a delicious vegetable and red pea soup for us to enjoy.  Santa Claus stopped by MNS for our “Hot Chocolate with Santa” event. Santa and his helpers walked around MNS and the community centre delivering gourmet hot chocolate with fun toppings. They also received a polaroid picture with Santa!

Our “Candy Grams” activity where staff got a bag full of treats and a nice message also helped us raise a significant amount.

We could not have reached our goal without the help of our wonderful and dedicated LINC Staff and students! Through various events at both our Malton and Brampton location in the month of November, the LINC departments combined raised a very significant amount to help our campaign.

The Early On centre at Bramalea City Centre also participated in having a bake sale at their location for their families.

We would like to thank our United Way representative, Mabel for attending our events and supporting us throughout the campaign. I would also like to thank our amazing Fundraising Campaign Committee. Manvir, Rupi, Mahum, Jonathon, Gabriel and Lujayn and our placement students Anneca, Latanya and Kojo. I can’t thank you all enough for taking the time out of your already busy schedules to put your all into this committee. The success of this campaign would not be possible without your ideas, time, effort and dedication. It is much appreciated!

With cash donations and employee payroll deductions combined we are very thrilled to announce that Malton Neighbourhood Services raised a total of $ 5,187.50!!!

This campaign gave Malton Neighbourhood Services an opportunity to give back to the community and have fun while doing it.

Thank you all again for your continued support and for another successful campaign!
