On February 28th, 2019 the Black Family Support Program was presented with an award in recognition of our organization’s work in the community.  The City of Brampton Black History Month Celebration took place on February 28th, 2019 from 6:00pm -8:00pm.

This was the first ever “Mayor’s Making Black History Awards” in Brampton.

Black History Month is an important way to recognize and celebrate the contributions of Black African and Caribbean Canadians to the cultural mosaic of our community. Black History Month reflects on the past, present and future contributions and experiences of people across the diaspora.

The City of Brampton notes that, “the efforts of your organization enriches the City of Brampton and is something to support, recognize and uplift. Your work is an important contribution to the community and I personally want to thank you for your efforts”.
