The Peel District School Board is now accepting kindergarten registrations for the 2020-21 school year through its new online kindergarten registration portal. While schools remain closed due to COVID-19, families who have children born in 2016 can register for kindergarten virtually, if they haven’t already done so.

“We’re pleased to continue welcoming new kindergarten students, and provide a tool that families can use to register online from the comfort of their homes,” says Director of Education Peter Joshua. “Starting school is a big step for families and, at the Peel board, we want to do everything we can to ensure that you and your child have the information you need to get ready to play, wonder and learn in kindergarten.”

Families will require an email address to begin the online registration process and all required documents can be uploaded directly into the application. Once the application has been submitted, families will receive a confirmation email and will be contacted by the school. Families who have already registered for the 2020-21 school year do not need to do so again.

On this website, families will also find resources and activities to help get ready for kindergarten, including a video overview of the program and an online information session with frequently asked questions.

The board also continues to accept new registrations during school closures for grades 1 to 12, and Continuing and Adult Education. For more information, visit www.peelschools.org/register
