Event Description

Family Time incorporates concepts and topics that help to introduce families and children to the pleasure and power of using nursery rhymes, songs, and stories from around the world. It is a fun and interactive way of encouraging children to share a song or a rhyme that they like to sing in their family in order to promote inclusion and community building. Different topics such as self-care, health and nutrition, movement, festivals, and celebrations will be explored throughout our Family Time programs. It promotes many key areas of young children’s development including social-emotional, fine and gross motor, cognitive, language, and literacy skills. Children also gain confidence by participating and singing along with the facilitator as they learn to respect and appreciate other cultures and languages. Parents and caregivers also gain skills and strategies that will enable them to further enhance bonding and positive family patterns during their children’s crucial early years.

Areas of Development: Social-emotional, physical, cognitive, language and literacy, appreciation for inclusion and diversity.
