Youth and Communications Coordinator (YCC)

The YCC provides individual supportive and informal counselling services to help youth ages 12 to 25 manage personal relationships, set goals, and make self-identified life decisions. We provide a safe space for youth to converse about personal and social issues including: bullying, family problems, education, and employment-related concerns. The YCC is able to support youth in finding summer and part-time jobs, and/or volunteer work. Youth can get help preparing for job interviews, with resume/cover letter writing, and skills/career development.

Youth Outreach Worker (YOW)

The YOW helps “hard-to-reach” youth ages 12 to 21 and their families connect with services in Malton and across Peel Region that can be of support to any aspect of their lives. The YOW build relationships, asses needs, raises youth’s awareness of available community services, engages them in community programs, refers to appropriate services, and strengthens partnerships among organizations that serves youths. When combining all of these aspects together, the YOW will inspire change in Malton’s youth. Services are mobile and community based.

Clinical Youth Outreach Worker (CYOW)

The CYOW provides support to “hard-to-reach” youth ages 12 to 21 and their families in Peel Region who may be experiencing concerns with their mental health and who are disconnected from mental health services. The CYOW collaborates with youth to offer individual counselling and case management support that is tailored to each youth’s individual goals, focusing on immediate needs and referring to long-term support services in the community. Through this form of support, the CYOW will work with youth to improve their mental health and well-being. Services are mobile and community based.
