Information on Mental Health
and Addictions

About Mental Health and Addictions

  • Just as there are many different types and variants of physical illnesses, there are also many different types and variants of mental illnesses. Mental illnesses are sometimes feared and misunderstood by some people, but the fear will disappear as people learn more about them.
  • Often, someone with a mental illness may also have an addiction and vice versa; in the medical community this is referred to as a concurrent disorder, and hence the two health issues are often looked at together.
