Services for Families

Ontario Early Years (OEY) Centres

Welcome to Malton Neighbourhood Services’ Ontario Early Years Centres, serving the Bramalea-Gore-Malton-Springdale area.

The Ontario Early Years Centre provides free services to families with children newborn to six years old, giving them opportunities to explore various child development programs, services and helpful information on parenting skills and children’s literacy.

The key functions of the Ontario Early Years Centres are to:

  • provide services and programming that are both parent/caregiver- and child-oriented,
  • provide information about community programs and services for children ages newborn to six, and help families connect with those services,
  • provide education and training for parents/caregivers,
  • enhance the early years services available for families in your community,
  • increase community awareness of the impact of the critical early years on children, families and society

Our Welcome Book describes OEY centres in more details and will let you know what to expect when visiting one of our centres.

We offer free, fun and educational programs ranging from our science-based "learning lab" and art-based "scribbles and giggles," to infant massage programs and family time drop-in programs.

    lion

    • Malton Neighbourhood Services operates a LION, "Learning in our Neighbourhood" vehicle, which parks at different elementary school locations in North-east Brampton.
    • It has early learning programs and information for families in newly developed neighbourhoods. The free programs on the vehicle are for children ages newborn to six years old and their parents/caregivers.
    • Our goal is to help prepare children for school and provide information to families about community resources and services, they might otherwise not be able to access due to lack of infrastructure in new communities.
    • Our qualified staff have worked with children, parents and caregivers for many years and provide an opportunity for interactive learning through music, stories, arts and crafts, science and math activities and more. Children have fun learning through play.

This program is made possible through partnership with many organizations, including Success By 6 Peel. To find out about locations near you and program times call 647-838-3101.
