Malton Neighbourhood Services offers two computer training courses at a minimal cost. Classes are conveniently conducted at Westwood Mall, close to the CIBC bank.

All courses:

teach the latest Microsoft software
are practical and geared to the workplace
offer small class sizes
allocate one computer per person
offer seniors and MNS members a ten per cent discount

Microsoft Office Professional Level One -- For Beginners

This course teaches comptuer basics and is perfect for people who:

have little-to-no computer skills
want to gain confidence in their computer skills
want to be able to help their children with their school work

The focus is on:

learning how to format and prepare a variety of documents
doing data entry and working with tables and spreadsheets (MS Access, MS Excel, & MS Word)
learning how to make slideshow presentations (MS PowerPoint)
working with graphics and learning to upload photos (MS Picture Manager)

Details for Level One:

$130 (no additional tax)
Six-week course, Saturdays, 10 a.m - 2 p.m.

Microsoft Office Professional Level Two -- Intermediate

This course is geared towards people who are looking to sharpen their computer skills to get ahead at work or school. This is a longer course than level one and it offers more in-depth training.

The focus is on:

learning basic statistics and generating tables and charts (MS Excel)
editing photos: reducing red-eye in photos, cropping, making photos
look sharper, etc. (MS Picture Manager)
adding movie clips and using custom animation for slideshow rpesentation (MS Powerpoint)
learning how to make brochures and flyers that stand out (MS Publisher)
